14th August 2009: Do you have, or do you know someone who has a horse with navicular problems? We have heard about a research project being undertaken, and they are looking for horses for rehab. You can find more information on the project, results and how to contact them if you have a horse for rehab at www.rockleyfarm.research/html and you can download a synopsis of the project as a PDF from UKNHCP forum at: http://uknhcp.myfastforum.org/about1132.html
Another random, but useful link: a friend of a friend has set up a new web-site: www.luggagelimits.com - it's free to use, and gives an up to date list of information about each airline and luggage weight limits - very useful if you're travelling abroad. Check it out, and put in your favourites - you never know when you might need it!! Thanks. 10th August 2009:

Horse Charity in need of help: Miracle workers need a miracle In September 2007, 'Wholly Horses' became 'WOW! World of Whispers' and moved into a small rented premises in the Vale of Glamorgan to establish itself as a pioneering Social Enterprise with a workable business model. A series of unforeseeable events has resulted in the project faltering and with every personal resource exhausted it faces termination at the end of August 2009 with the horses being re-homed as a result. Over a six year period 'Wholly Horses' welcomed literally hundreds of guests from across the globe, providing uplifting experiences with the herd that in addition to being developmental, educational and therapeutic offered a sense of freedom, friendship and fun. As a Social Enterprise, the work could be expanded to include more people of all ages particularly children and adults with terminal illness, learning difficulties, social disadvantage and disability. The project and the horses urgently require help: Option one Option two Option three If you are able to offer any assistance in any way or can link WOW! with individuals who might be interested in discussing this opportunity further please email Helen Wingstedt or call on 07719 345616. The following websites offer more information about the project: www.equamigo.com The horses can be visited at: Thank you. | |
