WORMER AVAILABILITY:
For the foreseeable future, wormers will only be available on Saturdays. I am looking into the possibility of setting up a postal system. If you wish to collect on any other day, please phone on Saturday to purchase the wormer, and it will be ready for collection afterwards. (To comply with the law, Sue has to be physically in the saddlery to sell any wormers)

Have you received a flyer from Fellowes Farm Equine Clinic regarding worming? (I received one this morning). I was surprised to see a glaring error on the advice given for worming. They have recommended "Noromectin or Equest" mid-winter "for encysted small redworm and bots". Noromectin is NOT effective against encysted small redworm. (See data sheet at: Noromectin Datasheet). I have written to Fellowes Farm to ask them to make a correction, but please bear this in mind if using their sheet. (Otherwise, the information given is very good).
Have you signed the petition against the proposed "Horse Tax" yet? Please visit http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Horse-Rethink/ and add your name. A tiny proportion of the people who would be affected have signed up so far - so please spread the word and get as many signatures as you can.

Many apologies for the continuing disruption in opening hours. I was planning to train up a new member of staff today, but due to a recent bereavement, I need a bit of time to get my head back in order!! Please check above, or call the shop on 01767 316089 where a recorded message will advise on the current week's opening hours.
I have taken the decision to close on Sundays for the foreseeable future - at least the next three months. I will review this in the Spring time. This will free up some time to do saddle fitting on a Sunday afternoon.
There are rumours circulating that the saddlery will be closing. This is NOT true - please correct anyone that you hear this from. I may have to open for reduced hours, but I have ABSOLUTELY NO PLANS to close the shop at the present time.

We have been given a link to a web-site with photographs of stolen items that have been recovered. Some of the items are very identifiable - personalised saddlecloths and rugs - a bridle with blinkers and multi-coloured reins, etc. If you have suffered a loss, please check out the web-site and get in touch.
This is also a reminder to get your tack and valuables marked (postcode is ideal) so that they can be returned to you if/when they are stolen & recovered.
